10TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG CHEMISTS

(ICYC 2026)

The Next Frontier of Chemistry: Journeying Towards the SDGs

22nd – 24th September 2026 (Tuesday – Thursday)

About ICYC 2026

The International Conference for Young Chemists (ICYC) is a biennial conference organized by the postgraduate students from the School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. This conference aims to bring local and international researchers together to facilitate interaction and networking among researchers in chemistry. The idea of this conference started in 2001, when it was known as the Regional Conference for Young Chemists (RCYC), targeting postgraduate students and researchers from the Asia Pacific region (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, India and Japan). Since then, the Regional Conference for Young Chemists (RCYC) has evolved and rebranded to The International Conference for Young Chemists (ICYC) that we know today. Researchers from all over the world were invited to attend the conference rather than targeting the Asia Pacific region.

The researchers in chemistry are buoyed by the advancing trends where they need to keep up to date with the latest advancement of emerging fundamental technologies and knowledge. This conference may serve as the platform for them to communicate, discuss, interact and share their findings in various fields of chemistry-related research. Prominent researchers in their respective fields are invited to share their findings as plenary speakers to inspire young minds in designing their future research. Industry players will also be involved to promote the latest developments and advancements of products or services in chemistry-related fields.

Exposure and knowledge sharing are vital in nurturing young chemists. Therefore, the organizing committees have decided to organize the conference to provide international exposure to foster the relationship of both local and international postgraduate researchers, as well as other researchers from all over the world.

It is hoped that the upcoming 10th International Conference for Young Chemists (10th ICYC) will be a successful conference, and the legacy of chemistry will live on forever.
